Look at all this new yarn that’s come in during the past week! We’re scurrying to make space for it all, but some of it is still in boxes. Here’s the rundown:
- Jean nee by Plymouth, soft cotton and acrylic blend. We have three denim shades in stock right now, with three or four other colors on their way. You can just see the neck of the model photo peeking from beneath the pile of yarn. It’s a child’s v-neck pullover done in ecru, green, orange and blue. We have the model and the pattern on hand.
- Love It by Berroco, a matte cotton/acrylic blend with a bit of lycra to give it stretch. Take a look at the great pattern support Berroco has provided. This book and a model are in the store.
- Nostalgia by Berroco, yet another cotton/acrylic blend, this one with a little shine to it. Again, their pattern support is fantastic.
- Melody by Jojoland, a fingering weight wool that has a very slow drift color change. It makes spectacular socks, but it needs hand washing. We have four lovely colors on hand.
- Touche by Berroco, more cottony goodness, this time blended with rayon for Spring knitting. This yarn is lightweight and easy to knit, and gives good stitch definition. Just right for textured knitting.
- Gems Merino by Louet. Compatible with Koigu, it gives us affordable solid shades of fingering weight merino. We have a few shades on hand now, with more to come soon. It’s soooo soft!
- Shire Silk by Plymouth, a textured raw silk yarn knitting at 4 1/2 stitches to the inch. We have a pattern for a cute textured vest made from this yarn that’s been flying off the shelf ever since it arrived.
- Euroflax Linen by Louet, in both sport and worsted weights. We’ve had so many requests for this yarn, mostly to make hand towels a la Mason-Dixon Knitting, that I just had to buy some. I’ll admit knitting with it takes some getting used to, but once you’ve washed the fabric, you’ll come back for more, I promise!
- New shades of Royal Bamboo by Plymouth, a favorite from last year. Bamboo fiber continues to be extremely popular and this particular yarn is pleasing to the eye, to the hand and to the pocketbook.
- Bonsai by Berroco. More bamboo, this time a ribbon, wrapped with a thin strand of nylon to give it a bit of texture. Shiny and soft, we received this sweater model — come see it!
- Last but not least is Bamboo Garden by Plymouth, a textured, multi color bamboo and cotton blend that’s selling like hotcakes! This is a yarn that you let do all the talking by just making a simple shell or tank top.
I have more pictures to share, but I’ll save them for tomorrow.
