Are you ready for some fun?

Sorry I’ve been gone so long. Technical difficulties. They’re all fixed now. On to the fun.

Do you see that button over there on the right? The one that says 2007 Knitters Retreat? That means we’re ready to take reservations! All the details are there, but just let me say that October in Tennessee is a little bit of heaven. The weather is (usually) just a little bit chilly so you need a sweater, the leaves are doing their color show thing… Where and when better to get together with other fiber enthusiasts to knit, crochet, spin, and have no other responsibilities!

Speaking of get togethers, tonight is Knit Night, from 5:00 to 7:00, and Sunday is our Knit In, from 1:00 to 4:00. Come to one, come to both; it’s always time to knit!

Amy Singer, please come to Huntsville

Amy Singer, editor of Knitty and author of the wildly popular No Sheep for You, is putting together a book tour, complete with trunk show.  Wouldn’t it be great if she came to Huntsville?  Where cotton is king?  If you’d like to help encourage her to visit, go here and add your name to the Huntsville demand.  It’s easy.  Just one little click is all it takes.  Then we can show her some fine Southern hospitality.

Introducing, the Louet Victoria. As you can see, it comes with its own carrying case, takes almost no assembly and is absolutely adorable! I was up and spinning in 15 minutes. Come to Knit Night tonight and try it out. We have three, two beech and one oak (pictured).

a new source of hand painted sock yarn

You would think it unlikely for one retailer to advertise the wares of another, now, wouldn’t you.  However, when retailer A (that’s me) is the proud mother of retailer B, it happens.  If you’re looking for something new and interesting, wander over to Ellie’s Ewes Hues, the brand new creation of my daughter Liz.

This all started last year when Liz and I went to Camp Stitches and learned to dye yarn from Merike Saarniit, a master in the field.  I had a great time, but Liz discovered a grand passion that weekend.  She has an innate color sense that just blows me away!  Okay, okay.  Enough motherly gushing.  Just go look, before it’s all gone.
