Thursday’s bits and pieces

First things first — it’s Knit Night time again. Come one, come all, get out of the heat and have fun knitting and spinning with us. We’re here till 7:00.

Knitters Retreat

The deadline is approaching, and we haven’t met our minimum yet. We need four more people to make this event happen. If you were thinking about signing up but just forgot, here’s your reminder. This one’s going to be easygoing and relaxed; take class if you want, or just come to knit, visit, commune with nature and have no responsibilities to anyone! Who can argue with that? Details and registration form are yours by clicking the button at the top right of the web page that says 2007 Knitters Retreat.

It’s a Community, Folks

Lately there’s been discussion on several of the knitting message boards about LYS etiquette regarding showing up with projects made with yarn not purchased at that shop. Some feel that it’s rude to ask for help at a place where you didn’t buy the yarn. Some also feel it’s inappropriate to show off yarn purchased elsewhere.

At Yarn Expressions we help anyone with any thing we can. Our goal is to help you feel more comfortable with knitting, and to make you want to be part of our community. That purpose would be defeated if we turned away every person who walked in here with yarn they bought someplace else. In 12+ years that policy hasn’t been abused, so we see no reason to change it. ‘Nuf said.
