Holiday weekend hours? We’ll be open on Saturday, from 11:00 until 4:00. We’ll be closed on Monday, Labor Day.
1000 Knitters Project? Everyone who replied quickly enough to garner a spot in front of Franklin’s camera has been notified by e-mail. If you didn’t receive an e-mail from me today, and you think you’re part of the crowd, call me or leave a comment here.
Enjoy the holiday!

For several weeks now I’ve been getting bouncebacks on e-mail replies sent to customers with Comcast addresses. If you’ve e-mailed me recently and haven’t gotten a reply, that’s why. I always reply, invariably within 24 hours. I don’t know what the source of the problem is, but I don’t want anyone to think I’m ignoring them. If you can’t find my reply in your spam filter and you have another e-mail address you can use, e-mail me again. If not, give me a call at the store.

Here’s a quick blast of pictures from the recent onslaught of boxes we’ve been unpacking.
Melody Sock from Jojoland — 12 colors, all superwash. We also have a good supply of their popular swirl shawl pattern, and received a scarf-sized model too.

Schulana Mosco from Skacel. No picture can adequately convey the beauty of this yarn. It’s a blend of rayon, mohair and nylon that shimmers, has a little halo and a little stretch. Knitting up at 7-8 stitches to the inch, this would make a lovely shawl or wrap for the holidays.

A sampling of Squooshy from my friend Roxanne at Zen Yarn Garden. This is her signature sock yarn, merino and nylon in irresistible colors. We have just a dozen skeins, two of each color, so if you want one, hurry in.

Twilight sock yarn from Storm Moon Fibers. Lindsay has the most unique palette of colors I know and I love all of them. These are just three of nine colors we received, all with unique names like Soylent Green is People (that’s it on the right), The Goblin Battle, She Blinded Me With Science. This too should move pretty fast.
1,000 Knitters Project update: We’ve reached the limit. Since this is the final public shoot, there are only so many slots left, and, at least for the moment, we’ve filled them. I’m waiting to hear back from Franklin as to whether there might be another one or two spaces available. As soon as I do, I’ll be sending out confirmation notices to everyone who snagged a spot. If you didn’t get a spot, don’t despair. We’re making a party of the day, with refreshments and fun, so do stop by. We’ll be open at 10:00 that day.
In case you haven’t noticed, the class list is up. We hope you’ll enjoy the projects and techniques we’ve come up with for the fall. We’ve also scheduled some time for a couple of knit-alongs, one each in September and October, two in November. They’re unstructured and free of charge and a wonderful way to get to know other people with your same knitting taste.
