Statistics show…

I’ve been looking over the sales records for the past few weeks, and it appears that everyone is yearning for sock yarn.  We’ve flown through an amazing amount of washable fingering weight wool in a very short period of time.  So, to feed the hunger, I give you new yarn to covet.Abstract Fibers Supersock

Abstract Fibers Supersock, just unpacked yesterday.  Susan is an independent dyer from Oregon who I met at TNNA this year.  Her colors are extraordinary and make both lovely socks and shawls.  Chrissy Gardiner had a Kiwassa Shawl made up out of this in her booth, propelling me to buy both pattern and yarn.

ShiBui Sock

New shades of ShiBui Sock.  Rob at Threadbear has been raving about this yarn for years, and I finally succumbed to its blandishments.  I wish I had paid attention sooner — I could have been playing with this lovely yarn ages ago if I had.  We have many pretty patterns to use for this lovely merino, but my favorite is this easy little garter stitch baby cardigan.

K1C2 Crock-O-Dye sock yarn

Although we’ve had this yarn for a few weeks, it’s worth showing here.  K1C2 Crock-O-Dye is the snuggliest yarn I’ve ever felt.  I want to roll in this one, folks.  When I was at TNNA, I was talking to Helene Rush, the owner of K1C2.  She mentioned that she was having this yarn spun up for her and hearing her description, I ordered it on the spot.  Sight unseen.  I’m so glad I did.   We just received the pattern for this cute one-skein scarf that Helene designed especially for Crock-O-Dye.  This will feel wonderful wrapped around your neck this fall.

Any one of these beautiful yarns will feel right at home in your knitting bag, ready to keep your hands occupied at a moment’s notice.

To everyone out there who signed up for the fiber/yarn Fiber Club. I just received my first sock yarn and it is stunning. I can’t wait to make a great pair of socks out of the yarn. Meg did a fantastic job with the color choices and the dying process. I’m already looking forward to next months installation. If you have not signed up and are still thinking about it, I strongly recommend it to you while she still has a few spaces left.
