We spent the weekend with Baby Joe and his parents, and my mother joined us, all the way from Arizona. She and Peppie had never met, but as you can see, they became the best of friends. Mom threatened to pack her up in her suitcase, so I was on missing dog patrol for a while.
Now that we’re home, I thought I’d remind you that the combined May/June Knit and Spin In will be this coming Sunday, May 23, from 1:00 to 4:00. I have some new handspun to show off, and a pitifully small amount of knitting to share. I always think I’m going to get so much knitting done when I travel, and I’m usually disappointed in my output. One more announcement — we’ll be closed for the Memorial Day weekend. We’ll be closing at 4:00 on Friday the 28th and won’t open until Tuesday the 1st of June (June! already!). So come knit and spin with us this weekend and then enjoy your holiday travels and parties. Saturday, the big sale day, was a lot of fun. Lots of people, lots of yarn, and laughter. Not once did I see a fight break out over that last ball of yarn in a certain colorway. No more juggling multiple yarns in your hands as you knit! The book covers color theory, color combination, and mastering color techniques. The book also includes ten original projects and 70 unique stitch patterns. Power Cables by Lily Chin This book just came in and immediately there were “ooohs” and “ahhhhs”. I haven’t seen a Lily Chin book before, but I was almost instantly interested in getting this one. In this book Ms. Chin discusses the basic structure of cables, charting cables, designing your own cables, and of course her innovative technique for creating reversible cables. The book of course includes 15 original patterns for everything from socks to pullovers. I think you’ll find this book difficult to resist. Have a great week everyone!
